HP802-247 Study for Venous Leg Ulcers Terminated in Phase 2
A Phase 2 Exploratory Pharmacodynamic Study of HP802-247 in Venous Leg Ulcers
Background
Venous leg ulcers (VLUs) are chronic, non-healing wounds affecting millions globally, often stemming from impaired venous circulation leading to persistent inflammation and tissue damage. These debilitating ulcers significantly diminish quality of life, impose substantial healthcare burdens, and are notoriously difficult to treat, frequently recurring despite standard care. While current management primarily involves compression therapy and advanced wound dressings, there remains a critical and urgent need for novel pharmacological interventions capable of directly modulating the underlying chronic inflammatory processes that drive VLU pathology and hinder healing.
