Thymalfasin as Adjuvant Therapy for HBV-Related Liver Cancer After Surgery
Thymalfasin Adjuvant Therapy in Hepatitis B Virus (HBV)-Related Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) After Curative Resection
Background
Primary liver cancer, known as Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC), is frequently associated with chronic Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) infection. Even after successful curative resection (surgical removal of the tumor), patients face a significant risk of HCC recurrence, which severely impacts their long-term survival. Current post-operative strategies are often insufficient, underscoring a critical need for more effective adjuvant therapies. This multi-center clinical trial aimed to evaluate if thymalfasin could reduce recurrence and improve survival in HBV-related HCC patients after curative surgery.
