When testing our peptides how do we know there isn't a small amount of something very dangerous present?

A thread drawing two consecutive days of sustained community attention surfaces a question that researchers acknowledge may have no clean answer: how confident can any self-experimenter be that a peptide sample is free of trace contaminants when independent analytical verification remains largely out of reach.
