Bombyx mori Antimicrobial Peptides (AMPs) rival broad-spectrum antibiotics, inducing bacterial pore formation and lysis
Purification, molecular characterization, and bioinformatics analysis of putative antimicrobial peptides isolated from the haemolymph of the mulberry silkworm, Bombyx mori.
Abstract
Five novel Antimicrobial Peptides (AMPs) isolated from Bombyx mori larvae demonstrated potent antibacterial activity, inducing bacterial pore formation and cell lysis, rivalling broad-spectrum antibiotics.
