Background
Type 2 diabetes (T2D) remains a global health challenge, often requiring multi-drug regimens to achieve optimal glycemic control and manage weight. Current therapies, including metformin and SGLT2 inhibitors, may not fully address the complex metabolic dysregulation. GLP-1 receptor agonists have shown significant efficacy, but combining mechanisms could offer superior benefits. Zenagamtide is a novel unimolecular agonist targeting GLP-1, amylin, and calcitonin receptors, aiming to leverage synergistic pathways for improved T2D management and weight loss. This trial investigates its dose-response efficacy.
