Integrate-PsA Protocol Outlines Search for Predictive Markers in Individualized Psoriatic Arthritis bDMARD Therapy
Background
Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting joints, entheses, and the axial skeleton. While numerous biological (bDMARDs) and targeted synthetic DMARDs are available after conventional synthetic DMARD failure, current guidelines lack specific recommendations for bDMARD selection without comorbidities. This gap often leads to a trial-and-error approach, delaying effective treatment. Identifying biomarkers associated with treatment response could enable individualized therapy, improving patient outcomes and reducing ineffective treatments.
