Dendrobium officinale Protocorms Effectively Repair UV-Induced Skin Damage in Mice
Background
Photodamage from chronic UV-irradiation is a primary driver of skin aging, manifesting as wrinkles, reduced elasticity, and an elevated risk of skin cancer. This damage is largely mediated by oxidative stress and inflammatory processes within the skin. While various treatments exist to mitigate these effects, many are associated with side effects or offer limited long-term efficacy. There is a pressing need for safe and effective natural compounds to both prevent and repair UV-induced skin damage, and exploring novel botanical extracts for their dermatological benefits represents a critical knowledge gap in current research.
