Once-Weekly Somapacitan Matches Daily Norditropin for Growth in Children

Results

The study demonstrated that once-weekly somapacitan was non-inferior to daily Norditropin® in promoting growth in children with GHD. Both treatments yielded comparable improvements in annualized height velocity (AHV), a key measure of growth. The somapacitan group achieved an impressive mean AHV of 10.8 cm/year, which was statistically comparable to the Norditropin® group's mean AHV of 10.6 cm/year, indicating similar robust growth stimulation. Safety profiles were also similar between the two groups; 85% of patients in the somapacitan group and 82% in the Norditropin® group experienced at least one adverse event, with most being mild to moderate and no new safety concerns identified. These findings suggest that the reduced injection frequency of somapacitan does not compromise its efficacy or safety compared to daily treatment.
