Time-Restricted Feeding Trial Initiated to Assess Metabolic and Endocrine Effects in Overweight Women with PCOS
Time-restricted Feeding for Treating Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Background
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive endocrine and metabolic disease characterized by anovulation, hyperandrogenemia, and polycystic ovaries. Insulin resistance and obesity are prevalent features, contributing to its complex pathology. Current treatments often struggle with long-term adherence and weight regain. Time-restricted feeding (TRF) shows promise for weight loss and improving insulin resistance and cardiometabolic health in general populations, but its specific impact on PCOS remains largely unexplored. This trial aims to fill that data gap.
