Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) management primarily relies on exogenous insulin, but many patients, especially those who are overweight, struggle with optimal glycemic control and weight gain. Traditional insulin regimens often lead to increased insulin requirements and associated weight gain, exacerbating cardiovascular risk factors. GLP-1 receptor agonists like liraglutide are effective in Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) for improving glycemic control and promoting weight loss, but their role as an adjunct therapy in T1D, particularly in overweight individuals, remains less explored. This study investigates this therapeutic gap.
