SBRT and Thymalfasin Combination Explored for Metastatic Esophageal Cancer
SBRT Combined With Thymalfasin for Metastatic Esophageal Cancer
Background
Esophageal cancer is an aggressive malignancy, often diagnosed at advanced stages, with metastatic esophageal cancer carrying a particularly poor prognosis. Standard treatments like surgery and chemoradiotherapy frequently lead to recurrence or progression. There is an urgent need for novel therapeutic strategies, especially for patients who are heavily pretreated and have limited options. This Phase II study aimed to investigate the potential of combining Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) with Thymalfasin to improve outcomes in this challenging patient population.
