Phase III Trial Investigates Thymosin α-1 for Sepsis Treatment
The Reset-α Study: A Double Blind, Randomised, Multi Center, Phase III Trial for the Efficacy and Safety of Thymosin α-1 (Tα1) in Sepsis Patients
Background
Sepsis is a severe, life-threatening condition caused by a dysregulated host response to infection, leading to acute organ dysfunction and high mortality. Current treatments focus on infection control and organ support, but often fail to address the complex immune system dysfunction that drives disease progression. There is a critical and unmet medical need for novel immunomodulatory therapies that can rebalance the immune response and improve patient outcomes in sepsis. This "Reset-α Study" aimed to rigorously evaluate Thymosin α-1 (Tα1) as a potential therapeutic agent.
