Recombinant IGF-I Explored for Severe Insulin Resistance Treatment

Study of Recombinant Human Insulin-Like Growth Factor I in Patients With Severe Insulin Resistance

Background

Severe insulin resistance is a challenging metabolic condition where the body's cells don't respond effectively to insulin, leading to hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) and other complications like hyperandrogenism and hyperlipidemia. Current therapies often fail these patients, highlighting an urgent need for novel treatments. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of recombinant human insulin-like growth factor I (rhIGF-I) to improve metabolic control and associated abnormalities in patients with severe insulin resistance.

Study Design

Population
Patients with severe insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, hyperandrogenism, and hyperlipidemia.
Intervention
Recombinant human insulin-like growth factor I (rhIGF-I).
Outcome
