Survey Reveals High Insomnia Rates Among Pharmacy Students
AAPP 2026 Annual Meeting Poster Abstracts
Background
Insomnia is a prevalent sleep disorder, significantly impacting quality of life and academic performance. Pharmacy students often face unique stressors, including demanding curricula, long study hours, and clinical rotations, which can predispose them to sleep disturbances. While the general student population experiences considerable rates of sleep issues, the specific prevalence and characteristics of insomnia within the highly specialized and demanding environment of pharmacy education remain an important area for investigation to inform targeted support strategies.
