Thymosin-α1 Significantly Improves Survival in HBV-Related Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure
The Efficacy and Safety of Thymosin-α1 in Patients With HBV-related ACLF
Background
HBV-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) is a rapidly progressing and often fatal condition where patients with pre-existing chronic liver disease, often due to Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, experience an acute decompensation. It's characterized by severe liver dysfunction, systemic inflammation, and multi-organ failure, leading to extremely high mortality rates. Current treatment options are limited, and there is an urgent need for effective therapies to improve patient outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate if Thymosin-α1 could improve survival and liver function in these critically ill patients.
