Background
Obesity and overweight are global health challenges requiring effective and accessible treatment strategies. While semaglutide tablets are already approved at lower doses for type 2 diabetes, their efficacy and safety at a higher oral dose specifically for weight loss in individuals without diabetes remained less explored. This pivotal study, OASIS 1, aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a higher-dose oral semaglutide formulation for comprehensive weight management in people living with overweight or obesity.
