Semaglutide-Metformin Combo Treats Obesity, Prediabetes in Unique Genetic Case
Semaglutide Plus Low-Dose Metformin Combination Therapy for the Treatment of Obesity and Prediabetes in a Woman with Partial Deletion of the X Chromosome Long Arm.
Background
Obesity and prediabetes are widespread metabolic disorders, significantly increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. While standard treatments exist, managing these conditions can be complex, especially in patients with underlying genetic factors. This case report investigates the efficacy of a combination therapy in a woman presenting with these conditions alongside a rare partial deletion of the X chromosome long arm, a genetic anomaly whose impact on metabolic regulation and treatment response is not well understood. This study addresses the gap in understanding how standard therapies perform in such unique genetic contexts.
