GLP-1 Agonists and Heart Rate: A Comprehensive Review in Non-Diabetic Overweight Individuals
Effect of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists on heart rate in non-diabetic individuals with overweight or obesity: a systematic review and pairwise and network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Background
Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) are highly effective medications for weight management and improving metabolic health, increasingly prescribed to individuals with overweight or obesity who do not have type 2 diabetes. While generally well-tolerated, some clinical observations have suggested a potential increase in heart rate associated with their use. This systematic review and network meta-analysis aimed to precisely quantify the impact of GLP-1 RAs on heart rate in this specific non-diabetic population.
