Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), formerly known as NAFLD, represents a rapidly escalating global health crisis, particularly concerning in the paediatric population. This chronic liver condition is intricately linked to the rising prevalence of childhood obesity, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes, often progressing to more severe forms like steatohepatitis and fibrosis. Despite its growing impact, a comprehensive understanding of the specific endocrine drivers and their therapeutic implications in children with MASLD remains a critical knowledge gap. This review aims to bridge this gap by synthesizing the latest insights from an endocrine perspective.
