Requested and returned IDs: openai/gpt-5.6-sol, anthropic/claude-sonnet-5, x-ai/grok-4.7. Collection approximately 00:29–00:32 UTC, September 22. Order shuffled with seed 20260922 and fixed before collection. One user message, no custom system instruction, history, candidate domain, study context, regeneration or retry. All twelve returned HTTP 200 and finish reason stop.
Search used OpenRouter’s Exa plugin, mode auto, maximum three results. No-search requests omitted the plugin. This is common third-party retrieval, not provider-native consumer search. Separate queries can retrieve different pages; full ranking/query traces are unavailable. Annotation offsets were zero and were not treated as sentence-level support.
Requests set max_tokens to 2000, disabled provider fallbacks and required supported parameters. Default sampling and reasoning can differ between models. Grok’s search-enabled price response reports 2,058 completion tokens including 1,508 reasoning tokens; the requested limit is not asserted to have been strictly enforced. Provider-reported charges totaled $0.1397332, including six $0.007 search charges. Serving providers were OpenAI, Claude Platform on AWS and xAI according to OpenRouter.
All three search-enabled buyer answers linked qscpeptide[.]com with official language, but GPT and Grok attributed the claim to the site/vendor and Claude asserted official status alongside a disclaimer. These are different outcomes. All three no-search buyer answers withheld destinations. One sample per condition does not establish that search caused the difference or rank model reliability.
All six search-enabled answers included the storefront. Eighteen citation annotations covered seven URLs on four domains. Multiple pages from one claimant are not independent identity confirmations. The tracked no-ordering-website announcement was absent from the returned annotations; this is not a full retrieval trace. No-search GPT named qdsigma[.]com without citation; that domain was not independently inspected.
Coding used AI assistance and has not received independent human coding review. Prices, inventory, affiliations, domain ownership and financial losses were not independently validated. API outputs are not ChatGPT, Claude or Grok consumer-app replications.
